Folk’s Tales is the creative project of Nate Sahr which combines stories from the lives of ordinary people with lovingly crafted musical scores. The result is a unique fusion of both song and podcast that is intimate and dense with life.

The best parts of Nate’s family gatherings growing up were when his dad and his two uncles would pull out the guitars and gather everyone around the campfires to sing old songs and tell old stories. The joy was infectious, and the tales were wild and wonderful.

Over time, Nate realized that everyone has stories to tell. Important stories. The cashier at your local grocery store had a unique childhood, and your neighbor two doors down has powerful hopes and dreams.

Using the power of music, Nate energizes stories and amplifies the voices of ordinary folk. He records people telling stories from their lives and then creates musical scores to accompany those stories. Nate believes every human being is worthy of what only movie characters normally get: a soundtrack to their lives!

Through this work, Nate connects people to this truth and helps them to see the inherent dignity in the lives that surround them. Nate hopes to expose his listeners to deep joys and pains in the lives of others, and in doing so give them a renewed perspective on the other folks in their lives.
